My new canon
Loosing a daughter made me the saddest person in the world. No, not that my daughter had gone. Using my Kodak 290 during my daughters wedding, I took nearly 200 photos, but when I came to transfer them to my laptop just 9 were any good.
Going to Amazon to buy a Canon eos 1000D was a great idea. What a difference, there’s certainly no comparison between the two, the Kodak has to be less than 10 feet in front of the subject to capture anything, but the Canon with its auto focus can find them within 50ft away and so clear.
The Canon was light in my hand and it handled extremely well after that big bulky Kodak of mine. As I’m not that tekkie knowledgeable it was a good job I had the Canon’s manual otherwise the camera would still be sat on the kitchen table.
The size of the Optical Image Stabilized lens is 18 mm to 55 mm and good photos can be taken with it. I could keep snapping away for hour’s as I’ve already taken 400 shots and the power level hasn’t really dropped that much. The single battery of this camera needs a good charge of at least two hours before you should use it, but after this it only takes an hour to recharge.
I think having just one big battery in a camera is much better than 4 small ones. Lift the lid on the top and shove in the battery. The bigger the memory card in the camera the more photos you can take.
With the software that comes with your Canon you can make some truly remarkable photos in your backroom with just a laptop.
Getting another book besides the Canon manual seems like a good idea. The “Canon eos 1000D for Dummies” is an excellent choice as it gives you ideas that you would think impossible when it comes to photography.
To round off this review I’d like to say the Canon is very easy to use and the pictures are stunning. I’ve definitely come up in the world since I bought my Canon. Getting the Canon to take different types of photos is so easy now I know how.
Such fiddly things computers, always seem to throw up some warning or other when you try to connect something new to them, so the Canon’s icon popping up on the screen almost immediately I plugged it in was truly amazing. I plugged in the Canon via the USB cable that came in the kit and the laptop recognized it immediately without me having to run any software first. Just popped up on its own, fantastic.
When I was choosing a camera the Canon wasn’t my first choice but am I glad I changed my mind and now I urge anybody thinking of buying a camera to look long and hard at this model.
